About Us

Anthony Thurton & Associates Ltd. is Belize's oldest established architectural and engineering consultancy firm, which has been participating in the development of Belize for over three decades now. Since its inception in 1975, it’s contributions have included architectural and engineering services encompassing a broad variety of project sizes and types throughout the country of Belize.

For major design task, specialized technical consultants such as mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as interior designers and other specialized professionals are selected to join the team in an effort to fulfill the particular requirement of each client.

Over the years, our firm has collaborated with other major architectural and engineering firms such as Faber Maunsell and Widdup Amer both of the United Kingdom. Such efforts offer our clients resources that include a range of experiences and expertise not normally available in Belize at reasonable costs. Our experiences on major projects have allowed us to work along side many major regional civil contractors such as Kier International on the $21 million Central Bank of Belize Headquarters Building; Johnston International in the Radisson Fort George Hotel Luxury Wing expansion as well as the $9 million ITVET campus development projects in Cayo and Stann Creek; Kee Chanona Ltd. in the Mezzanine addition to the main branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia, Belize City and the $9 million ITVET campus development project in Corozal and Orange Walk.

Our firm is also typically engaged as check consultants for design-build projects where we function as the client's technical representative. In such cases our role often includes the review of designs, specifications, contract documents , as well as the monitoring of the construction works and the administration of contracts between the facility owners and the design-build contractors. Most prominent among such assignments is our commission with the United States State Department for the development of the US Embassy Housing Compound in Belmopan City which includes eighteen residential buildings including that of the the US Ambassador to Belize, concrete roads, underground drainage systems, ball courts, swimming pool and other amenities. Another similar assignment include the Central Bank of Belize New Headquarters Building Project whereby our firm was engaged by Oscar Faber of the United Kingdom to monitor the construction of a $21 million security conscious office facility.
